Mole removal
Mole, cysts and skin tags can be very common on the face and other parts of the body and they can prove to be embarrassing for men and women as well as cause problems with applying make-up, shaving or catching on clothing.

Who is mole removal treatment for?

Mole removal surgery is applicable to men and women of all ages that would like to eliminate protruding moles that are repeatedly irritated by daily activities. Mole treatment is also suitable for those who feel that removal of facial moles and cysts may enhance their appearance.

What does mole removal involve?

Dr Joffily's goal is to make your experience as easy and comfortable as possible. Moles and cysts are removed quickly and simply on an outpatient basis. A local anaesthetic is normally used. The majority of moles and cysts are removed by simple excision and, where only one or two exist, the procedure would normally take no more than twenty minutes.

What should I know about mole removals?

Before you decide to go ahead, Dr Joffily will offer you a thorough one-to-one medical consultation. During the consultation, you will be asked to point out exactly what you would like to see improved. This will help to understand your expectations and determine whether they can realistically be achieved.

How are mole removals performed?

For excision of the mole, the physician uses a scalpel to cut the mole and a border of good skin. Stitches are placed either deep within the skin, or on the upper surface, depending on the depth of the excision. Mole removal typically takes less than an hour to perform, depending on the amount of moles to be removed.

Are there any risks with mole removals?

Fortunately, significant complications from mole removals are infrequent. Every year, many people undergo success full mole removal surgery, experience no major problems and are delighted with the results. Anyone considering surgery, however, should be aware of both the benefits and the risks. Your surgeon will discuss these with you during your consultation.

What happens after mole removal surgery?

Mole or cyst removal normally requires little or no recuperation time. If you feel any discomfort, relieve it with prescribed pain medication. It's usual for a scab to develop; this will heal within a week or two. Also any redness that occurs will disappear within two to four weeks. Most scars that do appear slowly fade over time.

Can I expect aftercare following mole removal surgery?

We aspire to the high levels of aftercare following surgery. After your mole removal surgery is complete, Dr Joffily will arrange regular check-ups to ensure that you're healing steadily.
